Théâtre en anglais Ados (13-17 ans)

Discover acting and perform in the language of Shakespeare, for ages 13 to 17.

At Cours Florent Jeunesse, we do not offer traditional English lessons, but acting classes taught in the language of Shakespeare. Through performance, students develop their language skills in a natural and engaging way. An audition at the start of the year determines the group in which each student is placed, according to their level.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for students aged between 13 and 17.

It is aimed at native English speakers, as well as students with a sufficient level of fluency, who wish to explore the richness of English-language theatre. Students will immerse themselves in the culture of “Acting in English” through the study of both classical and contemporary British and American playwrights.

They will be introduced to a range of techniques and approaches used across the anglophone world, alongside methodologies developed specifically at Cours Florent by highly trained and experienced instructors.

Admission to the programme is determined through an audition at the school.

Objectives

  • Explore advanced acting techniques and collaborative ensemble work
  • Develop greater confidence in self-expression
  • Strengthen research and devising skills
  • Build familiarity with English-language dramatic literature
  • Learn to create, respond, identify objectives, and make purposeful choices
  • Understand the dramaturgical structure of a scene or monologue

All classes are taught by professionally trained, fully bilingual instructors.

Entry requirements: Applicants must demonstrate a sufficient level of English and/or bilingual aptitude.

The programme

Students research, explore, and rehearse a monologue or scene from the classical or contemporary anglophone repertoire.

Students create a collective piece based on a central theme chosen by the instructor. Drawing on research, improvisation, and imagination, the group develops an original work. The use of a wide range of artistic media as sources of inspiration is encouraged (theatre, novels, photography, painting, exhibitions, music, cinema, etc.).

An individual progress report is sent to parents at the end of each term.
